The extraordinary in an original way: Firmly rooted in the tradition of jazz and its related genres, Kilian Sladek is one of the most versatile singers of his generation.
The high emotionality of his artistic expression, combined with the frequent use of unconventional musical means such as extended vocal techniques and scatting, distinguishes his music and makes it accessible to a wide audience.
Since his studies at the state music academies in Munich and Riga with singers such as Anne Czichowsky, Inga Berzina and Philipp Weiss, he has already released two albums – “SYLLABULISM” (Unit Records, 2020) and “SEASONS” (2022). There, influences of various scat virtuosos like Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau or Jon Hendricks and the sound aesthetics of the EDM genre ambient and film music meet.
Besides his own projects FRAGMENTS (EDM Ambient), YOUNG&FOOLISH (Crooning/Vocal Jazz), [we]play (Pop, Jazz & Spontanity) and aMUSE (Singer-Songwriter-Jazz), he is a member of Magnus Dauner’s PORTRAIT IN RHYTHM (World influenced Jazz).
He also performs regularly as a soloist with band or big band. From 2018 – 2020 he was a singer in the Bundesjazzorchester and in 2021 he was awarded the Förderpreis der Bayerischen Jazzunion.
